Heart Chakra Tradition
The heart chakra is the first chakra we are talking about that is recognizable to most people, in that it is general knowledge that people have a heart and where it is located in their body.
The lower three chakras that we have been working with cover base human needs such as shelter, reproduction, safety and security. Once these chakras are in alignment and you begin work with the fourth chakra there is a distinct shift towards cultivating the skills that are necessary for human connection. Specifically the fourth chakra works with ideas such as forgiveness, openness, acceptance, and connection, all necessary prerequisites for the highest purpose of the heart chakra: divine unconditional love.
What I think is particularly cool about this chakra is, yes it is located in the chest, but it then radiates down into the hands. Now this just inherently makes sense to me. Think of brushing a lock of hair out of a lover's face, or soothing an upset child by rubbing their back, or baking a birthday cake. These are the ways that we show the people we love that we care. When we can think of our hands this way it can change our mood around the things we do. I don’t just clean the dishes or scrub the toilets in my house because it needs to happen, I do it because I love my family and myself and I want us all to be in a clean space in which we can thrive. Our hands are the physical representation of our love out in the world.
Truly unconditional love can be a whole lifetime of work. If you find yourself caught up in issues with forgiveness, openness, acceptance or connection with others it can be linked to the lower 3 chakras being out of alignment blocking this 4th chakra. If this is something you would like to work on then reach out today to start your Mindful Tradition. In the meantime I am going to offer some pointers on how to bring balance and alignment to this chakra in hopes that you can open your heart and freely offer your gift of love with the world.
