Affordable Tradition

When I thought about starting a business initially, I was not overjoyed at the idea. Because when I think of business and businesses that are financially viable I am filled with images of crushing competitors, back handed deals, and exploitation of employees. I was very aware that if I was going to be starting a business I wanted to create something that would be a salve to heal the world, not something that would perpetuate the cycle of unhealth.

I personally believe that so many of the worlds pains are linked to money. This idea that we have to have it, this idea that we can not get it when we need it, that through it power can be obtained rather than through compassion and wisdom.

While Mindful Tradition is a for profit business, it does follow the Slow Business Model.

This means being committed to slow growth that is sustainable personally and creating the time for health and balance in my personal and professional life. It means that the goal is making a living wage for myself and my family and not trying to create record breaking revenues. It means collaborating rather than crushing other like minded businesses. It means committing to sustainable practices that are advantageous for both the community that I live in and the planet itself.

So to you, the consumer, I am committed to providing a quality service that is accessible to all as part of this Slow Business Model. There are numerous ways in which this can be done.

Please review these options and reach out with any questions you may have, I look forward to working with you. Because today is the day to start your affordable tradition.

1) Flex Spending Plans - Many health care plans now have a delightful line item known as flex spending. Depending on your plan this can be used for a number of things such as: glasses, supplements, gym memberships, or (you guessed it) yoga!!! The way these plans work is that you cover the costs up front. I supply you with a receipt for reimbursement and then you get those dollar bills back in your pocket.

2) Self Directed Programing - If you are a nuero-diverse individual that receives Medicaid funding for services you have the opportunity at your annual life plan meeting to request specific therapeutic services, such as with Mindful tradition. Perhaps you are trying to meet some life goals that would be outlined for the year and need consultative services to help you reach those goals, or perhaps it is that you you would like to attend weekly yoga classes, you just need to advocate for yourself (or with the help of a guardian) to receive the services that will meet your needs.

3) Sliding Scale - If you are paying out of pocket Mindful Tradition is committed to serving all people despite of income. If you fall into the income bracket as defined by the federal government as the poverty line then a sliding scale will be applied to your fees.
